Voter Registration Drive

Brother Knights and Ladies,

With the approval of your pastor, Carl Anderson, Supreme Knight, and Brad Grill, State Deputy, urge all Councils and Auxiliaries to stage Voter Registration Drives in every parish during September 2012, thus allowing Catholic citizens to satisfy their civic duty.

District Deputies, Grand Knights and Ladies will lead the drives encouraging eligible parishioners to register by October 10th and then vote in the November 6th election.

The message is uncomplicated and urgent:

• Study the issues
• Study the candidates’ history and views
• Understand the candidates’ impact on moral issues
• Research the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ positions on ballot proposals.
• Log-in to www.usccb.org One quote thereon: “Responsible citizenship is a virtue and participation in political life is a moral obligation.” Refer to the Issues and Action portion of the website.
• Log on to www.mocatholic.org, the website of Missouri Catholic Conference for public policy positions of the Catholic Church.
• Pray and discern the appropriate response to campaign rhetoric.
• Vote your conscience to assure a faithfilled future for your children and grandchildren.
