Msgr. Mancuso Catholic Education Grants
Providing strong Catholic Education programs for our youth has always been a priority of the Knights. In 1984, Monsignor Joseph Mancuso spearheaded a drive to raise money to establish a $1,000,000 trust fund for Catholic Education programs. Beginning in 1990, interest earned from this fund has been used to provide grants totalling $592,800 to over 250 different Catholic Schools and Parish-based youth Religious Education programs.
Catholic Schools and Religious Education programs may apply for either a $500 or $1,000 grant. Application forms are available on the state website www.mokofc.org or may be obtained from Fr. Weber. Completed applications may be emailed, sent via postal mail, or faxed and are due by March 1. (Electronic or Postal submissions are preferred.) Postal submissions must be postmarked by March 1 and be received by March 4 to be considered. Grant recipients will be announced at the State Convention and funds will be distributed by the end of May. In the 2011-2012 fraternal year, 77 applications were received with 63 grants totalling $53,000 being awarded. Please encourage your Catholic School and/or Religious Education program to submit an application this year.
