Prison Concern (Agape)
“Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.” There are numerous opportunities for you to help your brothers and sisters who have fallen along life’s path, as well as their families:
- Agape (pronounced ah-gah-pey) House - They provide families of prisoners a place to stay overnight when they are visiting family members who are incarcerated. Agape, which translated means “Christian Love,” treats all of their guests with respect, love and caring. Each Council, Assembly and Auxiliary is asked to donate $50 to this worthwhile cause. Make checks payable to: Columbian Charities - Prison Concern
- Residents Encounter Christ - This is a three-day retreat weekend based upon the Paschal Mystery. Each day is based upon a theme: “Die Day” (centered on the death of Jesus), “Rise Day” (the resurrection of Jesus) and “Go Day” (the continuous call to spread the good word). For additional information please go to www.morec.com
- Diocesan Prison Ministries - Each Missouri Diocese has some program in place for Prison Ministries. You can support these programs through donations of time and/or money.
