Catherine Elizabeth Turner is our May/June Youth of the Month. Catherine is the 14-year-old daughter of Lewis John and M. Colette Schmidt-Turner, M.D., of Florissant. Lewis John Turner is a member of St. Norbert Council, #11635, Catherine is a member of St. Norbert Church.
As a sophomore student at Incarnate Word Academy, Catherine is on the swim team, Liturgy Committee, Honor Choir, and the Pro-Life Committee. She is a Student Ambassador with “People to People,” in the Literature Club, the French Club, and the Science Club. She also co-founded and leads a GIFT prayer group at school. Catherine is involved in her parish and regularly serves St. Norbert's church as a lector, server, and a cantor.
Each summer, Catherine helps for a week at the Jensen-Schmidt tennis Academy for Down Syndrome people. For two years, Catherine has traveled with a school group to Washington, D.C. for the Pro-Life March. She is also involved with the IWA's “Walk for Autism.”
Catherine is devoted to her family and friends. She gives her time, energy, and talents to her church, school, hobbies, and volunteer projects. She is always smiling, and gives joy to all she meets. Congratulations to our May/June Youth of the Month, Catherine Turner.
