Technology and Communications
As many of you know, as you look around you, technology is everywhere. Most of the homes in today’s world has at least one computer, and a seemingly infinite number of other gadgets like smart phones, tablets, interactive music players, etc.
It is time for the Knights of Columbus in Missouri to catch up. It is my job as the Chairman for Technology and Communications to see to it that we make better use of the available electronic media, and its countless ways to streamline and speed up communications amongst Knights in the state.
In the coming months, be looking for some new initiatives around making our internal communications more modern. While good old “snail mail” still has its place, be looking for more communications from the state level to be coming to you electronically. The first task that I will be working on is setup a directory consisting of e-mail addresses for our local council leadership.
With this directory, we can then utilize the State Council mass e-mailing partner, Constant Contact, to keep in touch with all of you. This will allow for fast delivery, and will save the State Council money on mailings. Be looking in the near future for your State Newsletters to arrive via this method, as well as mailings regarding state meetings such as the 2015 State Convention.
As you can see, it is an exciting time, and I am thrilled to be leading this fun and adventurous time!!
